Potica Potica (pronounced poe-TEETZ-ah) is a Slovenian holiday bread, but don’t wait for a holiday to make this; it’s too good. 2 pkgs. dry active yeast 1/2 Cup warm milk 1 TB. sugar 6 Cups flour, sifted 1 tsp. salt 1/3 Cup sugar 1/3 lb. butter, softened 3 eggs, beaten 1 Cup sour cream, room temperature 1 egg white 1 tsp. water 1 1/2 Cups sweet cream (heavy cream) 1 1/2 lbs. ground walnuts 1/3 lb. butter 1/3 Cup honey 11/2 Cups sugar 1 TB. lemon peel (1 tsp. MINCED LEMON PEEL in 1 TB. water) 1 TB. orange peel (1 tsp. MINCED ORANGE PEEL in 1 TB. water) 1 tsp. PURE VANILLA EXTRACT 1 TB. brandy 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 3 egg whites, beaten stiff with 1 TB. sugar (3-5 minutes on high speed) 1 Cup golden raisins, optional 1/2 tsp. PENZEYS CINNAMON 1/2 Cup sugar
