Hamburger Soup Head to the farmers market to pick up some fresh veggies for this wonderful soup from Gloria. 2 lbs. ground beef (Gloria uses chuck) 1 Cup chopped onion (1 medium) 1 Cup chopped celery (2 stalks) 1 Cup sliced carrots (2 medium) 1 Cup chopped zucchini (1 small) 1 Cup chopped cabbage (1/6 of a head or so) 2 potatoes, diced (peel if desired) 1 15-oz. can petite diced tomatoes (unseasoned) 5-6 Cups beef broth (or 5-6 Cups water mixed with 2 1/2 tsp. BEEF SOUP BASE) 1/3 Cup pearl barley 1/4 tsp. GRANULATED GARLIC POWDER 1/2-2 tsp. salt, to taste 1/2 tsp. TURKISH OREGANO 1/2 tsp. PENZEYS FRESHLY GROUND PEPPER 1/4 tsp. RUBBED SAGE 1-2 tsp. OLD WORLD SEASONING (optional)
